Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is Asia’s most famous archeological site and the principle draw card to the Kingdom of Cambodia for many savvy tourists from around the globe. Angkor stood once at the center of the mighty Khmer empire (9th to 15th century) and grew to become the largest known pre-industrial settlement, spanning a site roughly equivalent to nowadays Paris. The site comprises dozens of iconic temples, including Angkor Wat itself (with its world-famous silhouette, best observed at sunrise); Bayon (a temple famous for its smiling, serene faces carved onto gigantic towers) and Ta Prohm (a magnificent temple ruin engulfed by the jungle).
Day 11:Siem Reap
Day 12:Hanoi
Hanoi - a blend between the traditional and the modern beauties - a sedate capital with rich history and the unique architecture from East to West welcomes you. Ho Chi Minh complex with the Mausoleum, Stilt House, One Pillar Pagoda, etc is one of the most important sites which will help you to learn more about history, arts and architecture. Don't miss the trip to Temple of Literature - the first university in Vietnam and you will have chance to learn more about the education and history of Vietnam. If you are interested in the rich culture of the minorities, how about visiting Museum of Ethnology. The lively exhibition, informative messages and many interesting stories of traditions and costume will give you a fascinating glimpse into many ethnic groups. Your visit will surely be an ideal choice in the holiday in Vietnam to to calm down from the hustle and bustle Hanoi.
Day 13:Hanoi
Referring to Hanoi, many people will think of the ancient features of the old town and historical sites in many feudal eras. But not stopping there, Hanoi also has the rhythm of a city that is developing day by day. Cultural beauty, combined with youthful features and rhythm, contribute to creating a colorful Hanoi, enough to attract any location. With a history of more than 1000 years, these tourist attractions will bring you many interesting experiences. Hanoi's delicious dishes will be one of the things that you cannot miss when coming to Hanoi. Because, each land has its own culinary beauty and unique flavor that creates the soul of that place. Hanoi is the same, here there are many delicious and unique dishes that create the unique beauty of Ha Thanh that cannot be confused.
Day 14:Hanoi - Halong Bay
Stepping into Ha Long and enjoying a night on a Ha Long cruise is a must-see if you want your trip to be more meaningful. If up to now you only knew how to stick with the bed at the hotel, now try the feeling of being floating on the surface of Ha Long sea to enjoy the fresh and airy atmosphere. Guests can choose to sleep overnight on Ha Long cruise, this experience will definitely give your trip more meaning, impression, and novelty amidst the vast ocean space. Halong Cruise is like a miniature hotel full of new, sophisticated and modern experiences. The travel services here are extremely attentive, professional and attractive. Experiencing 1 night on Ha Long cruise, you will enjoy a unique and luxurious space. Especially, when you wake up in the morning, you can experience many interesting activities that the yacht brings to tourists such as tai-chi, breathing the fresh air of the sea.
Day 15:Hue
Day 16:Hue
It seems that every city in Vietnam can do tourism, because each place has its very own natural picture, along with unique culture and history. Hue is a typical example. This land, despite experiencing many ups and downs of time and the fluctuations of the country, still retains its ancient, gentle and dignified look. However, Hue not only has the relics of the golden age but also possesses many beautiful landscapes that harmonize between passes, clouds, rivers and mountains. Hue cuisine is a combination of the common features of Central cuisine and the distinctive features of the ancient capital.
Day 17:Danang - Hoi An
Day 18:Hoi An
It is no exaggeration to compare Hoi An as an ancient pearl full of charm when it comes to the tourist map of Central Vietnam. Hoi An is an accompanying destination not to be missed in the journey to major cities such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, Hue. You will stay 1 night in Hoi An to enjoy the vibrant nightlife when the lanterns are lighten up. This city on the central Vietnamese coast is a well-preserved example of the important Southeast Asian trading port it was from the 15th-19th centuries. Already a common stop for backpackers, it is becoming better known to tourists. On the 14th day of each lunar month, the town trades its electric lights for traditional coloured lanterns. Sights include the Japanese Covered Bridge and the Quan Cong Temple. Let the town’s expert tailors make you some bespoke clothing.
Day 19:Hoi An
Day 20:Hoi An - My Son
My Son was built by the Champa people some 1,500 years ago and it shows their strong Buddhist beliefs : lots of Sanskrit inscriptions, statues and Shiva lingas. Apparently it was a large site with more than 70 temples, but a lot got destroyed by American bombs when the Vietcong hid in it. Only a couple now remain more or less intact. Restorations are ongoing with involvement of the Indian and Japanese governments. Obviously it bears no comparison with Angkor Wat, but I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the site. It's a pity the local Vietnamese seem to have very little interest in this important cultural heritage site.
