With the rough terrain and superb scenery, Ma Pi Leng Pass is the highlight of the Ha Giang motorbike loop. Called the King of All Passes in Vietnam due to being the most rugged, this 20-km road is a part of the so-called Happiness Road connecting Ha Giang City with the Dong Van District and Meo Vac Town. It is such a narrow road hung on a cliff that it will take your breath away. Building it was so dangerous that some people died during the construction, which took over two years to complete. The pass goes through towering cliffs at Ma Pi Leng Peak at an altitude of 2,000 meters. There is an imposing gorge created by the distance between the pass and Nho Que River at the bottom.

Lung Cu Flag Tower has long been a sacred image in the heart of every Vietnamese land. It is known as a national flagpole located at the top of Lung Cu (the Dragon mountain). It takes 389 stone steps to go up to the top of the flagpole and you will then have a fantastic chance to admire the terrific beauty of the panoramic Dong Van stone as a masterpiece of creativity. Ba Be Lake stretches in between mountains of limestone and schist containing hidden caverns and underground streams. The lake is 8km long, 3km wide and from 20 to 30m deep. It contains two islets. One of them is called An Ma Islet because it looks like a horse riding in the water. The other is Ba Goa (Widow) Islet with the legend of a kind widow. Since 1995, Ba Be Lake has been recognized as one of the world's 20 special freshwater lakes that need to be protected at the Conference on World Freshwater Lakes in the US. Since 2011, UNESCO has also recognized Ba Be Lake as the 3rd Ramsar site in Viet Nam.
